A couple of months ago we restored a classy Claud Butler and our good friend Luke Shepard shot this video. Starring Dan and with cameos from the rest of us, this video shows the full restoration process at Mottainai Cycles.
I hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoy the work! Remember to like and repost and hopefully we’ll have more videos like this in the months to come!
As we enter the colder seasons, riding seems to take on a different kind of pleasure, a more introverted journey, beauty and pleasure become more about the juxtaposition of warmth to cold, the body warm under clothing and our legs pumping warmth into us as our faces feel the thrill of the chill sliding against our cheeks and ears. The colours around us more muted and subtle but seemingly mysterious as if hiding something from us. We tend not to meander but have a set purpose and sometimes it feels like we are the only ones riding through this city. We love riding through Winter’s solemn embrace.
We are basically all about beautiful bikes….. we love good quality hand built bikes that were crafted out of passion, we sell and build custom bikes out of high quality vintage steel frames. We can build bikes with original vintage parts or use contemporary groupsets/parts depending on your needs and desires. We also specialize in restoring vintage bikes … there are many options that we can accommodate, we always tell our customers to come in with your ideas or your bike and we can give you some options to choose from and a budget to work in. We believe cycling is one of the most wonderful activities in this crazy world of ours and we want to add value by making sure people are riding bikes that they love.
We have a shop that is full of truly amazing bicycles, you are very welcome to just come in to take a look or have a chat. Our workshop is very friendly. We also service and repair all manner of bicycles and offer a 24 hour turn around for a service (depending on replacement parts availability).
Also, don’t forget the Melburn Roobaix on the 28th of June and the Noosa Strade Bianche on the 8th – 9th of August. We’ve got the perfect bikes for these events so come check us out if you need a new whip to ride in style!
